I have been around Lake Martin for well over 40 years. I first saw the Lake flying in and out of Maxwell while in the Air Force and realized then that this would be a great retirement spot!
After deciding to retire from the Air Force in 1975, I moved to the Lake. I began teaching at Troy State University and, not wanting to sit idle on the weekends, I began selling real estate and specializing in Lake properties. I was the first outside salesperson to join Lake Breeze early on from its inception. Typical weekend retreats have appreciated in price tremendously since that time.
